(Queensbury, NY) - It was a big weekend for the Northeastern Corvette community as the annual Adirondack VetteFest 2022 was held in Queensbury, New York September 9-11 with hundreds of Corvettes and their enthusiastic owners represented.  

The VetteFest Corvette Car Show is an annual Adirondack tradition held by the Adirondack Corvette Club, with this years' 30th Anniversary Edition hosted at the Queensbury Hotel.  Entrants were treated to banquets, live music and entertainment, events, awards and and beautiful Corvettes from all across the Northeast.  The weekend's events kicked off on Friday evening at the Queensbury Hotel with an entrant Registration & Reception event complete with hors d'oeuvres and a cocktail hour.  Entrants were encouraged to spend the remainder of the evening exploring the surrounding area, and/or watch a Hot Rod Cruise in the nearby village of Lake George.   

The action really kicked into high gear on Saturday and was highlighted by a group road trip of 54 Corvettes that traveled from Glens Falls, New York to the Sacandaga Reservoir.  The tour of 54 made stops at the renowned Lanzi's on the Lake and infamous Jack Gillette Corvette collection in Saratoga Springs, NY where they toured his astounding collection of over 60 Corvettes!  After the trek back to Queensbury all participants were invited to a VetteFest Banquet that featured live music and dancing until nearly midnight!  

The weekend culminated with Sunday's all Corvette "Shine and Show" Car Show which included over 100 paid entrants from New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Canada in addition to members of the Adirondack Corvette Club.  The day was filled with giveaways, raffles, award presentations, food and live music all highlighted by well over 150 Corvettes in total lining Maple Street just a stone's throw away from the Queensbury Hotel. 

According to Adirondack Corvette Club member Dave Price, the weekend was an incredible success.  While all Corvette years and generations were well represented, Dave tells us that C1, C2 and C3 Corvette pride was on display in full force with the majority of the weekend's entrants coming from these earlier Corvette Generations.  In total, Dave estimates over 400 people came to celebrate America's Sports Car - a number we all hope to see continue grow over the coming years.  If you want to be a part of all the Adirondack Corvette action next year, we recommend keeping your eye on the Official Adirondack Corvettes website for more information.

Recently the official Chevrolet YouTube page and Z06 Website released two new "Z06 Academy" videos that really drive home the unrivaled, superior performance of the new 2023 Z06 Corvette and its optional Z07 Package.

With 2023 Z06 Corvettes continuing to make their way to the streets, Chevrolet & GM are cracking down on those who are only in it to resell their new high demand vehicles.  In an effort to deter C8 owners from flipping the new Z06 Chevrolet is offering a $5000 incentive to all who retain ownership of the vehicle for more than one year in addition to a 12 month warranty transferability restriction and indefinite ban from preordering of future GM vehicles. 

For a limited time, My Chevrolet Rewards members can earn an additional 500,000 points — a $5,000 value — when they retain ownership of their vehicle for 12 months after purchase. Points can be redeemed on GM Financial Payments, Accessories, and more.

These moves certainly are drastic, and are designed to be exactly that.  Chevrolet's primary concern is having vehicles resold at inflated prices by unauthorized individuals, a practice that often results in a purchasing experience that does not meet GM's quality standards.  While there will always be those who slip through the deterrent's cracks, Chevrolet & GM are confident this move will be effective in policing issues that have plagued previous model releases, ensuring the best experience for their customers. 

It's safe to say Chevrolet isn't messing around.  When dealing with a lifestyle brand such as Corvette, it's important that the long time, loyal customers are taken care of and given the best ownership experience possible, not to mention lowered prices.  It's clear Chevrolet wants to treat their customers right.

“Own the Color” auction, benefitting DonorsChoose, took place June 20-24 exclusively via SuperRare

DETROIT – The first mid-engine Corvette Z06 continues its promise of putting the world on notice with Chevrolet’s first entry into the Web3 space: a one-of-one 2023 Corvette Z06-inspired NFT artwork created by the artist xsullo. The “Own the Color” auction paired the NFT with a custom-painted, real-life 2023 Corvette Z06 color-matched to the artwork. At the conclusion of the auction offered exclusively via SuperRare, the pioneering marketplace for unique curated NFT artworks, the winning bidder will be able to say they “Own the Color” — Minted Green, a reference to minting NFTs. The auction was live to eligible bidders worldwide June 20-24 and bid were only accepted in the digital currency, Ethereum.

All proceeds from the auction benefited DonorsChoose. The organization’s mission is to make it easy for anyone to help a teacher in need and move us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education. “Own the Color” means Chevrolet will not apply Minted Green to another production 2023 Corvette Z06. In addition to a digital certificate of ownership and authenticity for the art piece, the physical Corvette Z06, equipped with the Z07 performance package, carbon fiber wheels and a commemorative plaque, will carry the option code RFN. The signification will forever associate the car with this auction and it’s one-of-one status. Further, the VIN for this Corvette Z06 is inspired by binary code, the language of computers, as a further connection between the car and Web3.

The vibrant work from xsullo continues to make waves across the crypto art and NFT communities as the “Own the Color” auction approaches, and numerous pieces from xsullo have sold on SuperRare.
