2024 Corvette Production Dealer Memo: What You Need to Know

Corvette enthusiasts, rejoice! The much-anticipated 2024 Corvette lineup is set to arrive soon, bringing with it a thrilling array of updates and enhancements. From the high-performance Stingray and Z06 models to the electrifying E-Ray, Chevrolet is once again pushing the boundaries of automotive excellence.

In this blog post, we'll take a closer look at the upcoming 2024 Corvette lineup, including production dates, allocation strategies, constraints, and warranty information. We'll also discuss Chevrolet's commitment to preserving the Corvette ownership experience.

Production and Allocation

The 2024 Corvette E-Ray is scheduled to begin regular production on October 23, 2023. All remaining orders for the 2023 model year have also been scheduled for production.

The production of the Stingray and Z06 models will begin on Monday, September 11th. Chevrolet has divided each model into three distinct allocation groups for dealers. This ensures that dealers can focus on specific models and cater to their customers' preferences more effectively.

Constraints

The 2024 Corvette Stingray and 2024 Z06 models come with their own set of constraints for the next batch of orders.  These updated constraints do not affect those who have already placed their orders (as of August 12th). The new constraints include specific limitations on exterior colors and wheel options, adding an element of exclusivity to the Corvette experience. For the Z06, constraints extend to brakes and wing options.  You can find a full comparison of the 2024 Constraints for reference below.

Warranty

Chevrolet is dedicated to preserving the Corvette ownership experience, as evidenced by the updated Vehicle Retention Program. This program revision serves to discourage vehicle flipping within the initial six months of purchase, resulting in warranty coverage being nullified. Interestingly, the E-Ray battery warranty maintains its full coverage, regardless of an earlier sale, thereby ensuring peace of mind for owners.

Key updates to the Vehicle Retention Program include:

  • Continuation of the existing 6-month no-flip policy. Should an owner decide to flip their car within the initial six months, the subsequent buyer will not benefit from warranty coverage.
  • Discontinuation of the reward-based incentive scheme that previously rewarded owners with $5,000 worth of rewards points for retaining their cars for six months.
  • However, the battery warranty for the E-Ray model remains unaffected if the car is sold within six months.

The shift away from the reward-based approach is a result of its limited effectiveness in curbing car flipping. In contrast, the warranty voiding strategy proves more potent in safeguarding the interests of authentic buyers who intend to maintain ownership over the long term.

Notably, the preservation of the E-Ray battery warranty, even in cases of resale within six months, presents a favorable outcome for buyers. This provision instills confidence in the durability and coverage of the warranty, even for those who opt for shorter ownership periods.
