The face of the Kim is a slice of reclaimed Corvette paint in a flat-top signet cut — wide enough to show the pattern, low enough to wear every day. Available in sterling silver or 18k gold-plated sterling silver, in sizes 7, 8 and 9, in a gender-neutral shape.
What Corvite is
Corvette bodies are painted at the GM plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and the paint builds up in layers over the course of that process. Those layers get reclaimed, cut and polished, and what shows is a cross-section of the colors that came through the paint shop. Collectors have prized the Ford version of this for years under the name Fordite; the Corvette version is called Corvite. Every slice cuts differently, so no two rings are alike.
Officially licensed by General Motors, and cut and finished by hand in Detroit by Rebel Nell, which has been making its pieces there since 2013 and hires and trains women facing barriers to employment.
