National Corvette Museum Opens Its New Collections Facility for Tours in January 2027
The National Corvette Museum is opening up the part of its campus most visitors never get to see. Starting January 13, 2027, guided tours will take guests inside the Museum's new 66,000-square-foot Collections Facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
The building was put up to give the Museum's collection room to keep growing. It holds more than 200 Corvettes under one roof, with dedicated space for vehicle preservation, artifact conservation, secure storage and education. The ribbon was cut in early September as part of the Museum's 32nd anniversary celebration, and the collection has been moving in this fall.
What the tour covers
The tours are guided and go well past the regular galleries. You'll walk through the preservation and restoration spaces and see Corvettes from every generation, including significant cars that rarely come out for public display. Along the way, the tour gets into how the Museum looks after those cars and the thousands of artifacts that go with them.
Museum President and CEO Bryce Burklow described the expansion as a way of "creating a sustainable future for preserving the full story of Corvette," and said guests will soon get to see that work up close.
Tickets and planning your visit
Tickets go on sale online by December 1, 2026, and every Collections Facility ticket has to be bought ahead of time. There are no tickets sold at the facility, and tour space is limited. Each tour ticket also includes self-guided admission to the Museum, and both are used on the same day.
A few things worth knowing before you book. The tour involves a good amount of standing and walking. Canes and wheelchairs are welcome, and the Museum has complimentary wheelchairs available on request. Rollators, electric scooters and strollers aren't permitted, and kids need to stay close by for the whole tour.
The Museum sits just off Interstate 65, about an hour north of Nashville, which makes it an easy add-on to a winter road trip.
