Do it the way GM did with GM Black Reconditioning Paint. It has a smooth satin finish for use on under hood sheet metal surfaces, chassis, trunk interiors, tires, rubber floor mats and more.
Dries to the touch in 30 minutes under normal temperature and humidity. This paint can be sprayed direct from can or thinned if desired. For those of you unfamiliar with this product, this paint has excellent coverage qualities, and sprays easy. It is used and preferred by restorers worldwide to acquire the proper GM factory look. This paint can also be used as a one step chassis finish and rust prevention treatment.
