Fan Friday: Norman Voter's 2014 Lime Rock Green C7 Stingray

Fan Friday: Norman Voter's 2014 Lime Rock Green C7 Stingray

Norman Voter grew up in rural Rumford, Maine, watching Corvettes roll through town — rarely, but memorably. Every one of them stopped people in their tracks. He never forgot that feeling. And when he finally decided it was time, he found a color that does exactly the same thing.

Norman's path to the Corvette was a long one, shaped by service. After 24 years in the Army, he celebrated his retirement the way many of us dream of — he went to a dealership and bought a Corvette. The first was a 2000 red C5, a car he loved, but it wasn't quite right. Two years later, at his local dealer, he found what he'd actually been looking for all along: a 2014 Stingray in Lime Rock Green. The numbers alone were enough to stop him: only 1,577 total C7s were ever built in Lime Rock Green, and of those, just 356 were coupes. Norman's car is one of them. That kind of rarity tends to change minds quickly — and it did. He bought it on the spot, trading up from the C5 that same day.

What makes the number even more significant: 2014 was the only year Lime Rock Green was ever offered on a C7. Chevrolet introduced it with the generation and discontinued it the following year, never bringing a comparable green back to the lineup. Of the 37,288 Corvette Stingrays built in 2014, Lime Rock Green accounted for just 4.2% — the lowest production color of the entire model year, dead last on the list. Every one of them was made in a single twelve-month window, and then the color was gone. Norman's Stingray, with its warm cognac interior and polished chrome wheels, wears that distinction well. It's also worth noting that 2014 marked the return of the Stingray name to Corvette for the first time since 1976 — meaning Norman owns a rare color in a historically significant first-year model. He was always partial to orange, he says, but Lime Rock Green caught him the moment he saw it. A perfect homage, he calls it, to 24 years of Army green. We'd call it a pretty good trade. 🏎️
