Fan Friday: Frank Harris's 2025 Red Mist Metallic C8 Stingray
Fourteen Corvettes. Sixty-six years. One man who has never once stopped. At 80 years young — his words — Frank Harris is still going.
It started in 1959 when 17-year-old Frank bought his first: a '59 with a 283 and two four-barrel carburetors. That car started something that never really ended. A 1966 with the 427/425 horsepower coupe followed. Then a '68 convertible. An '81 coupe. He bought every one of those used. Then in 1997, something shifted — he bought his first brand-new Corvette, a C5 coupe, and never looked back. A 2001 convertible, a 2006 coupe, a 2008 convertible, a 2008 Z06, a 2012 Grand Sport convertible, a 2014 Stingray convertible, a 2017 Grand Sport coupe. Then a 2022 C8 Stingray coupe that he called his best — until the 2025 arrived.
Frank's 2025 2LT coupe is finished in Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat with Natural interior — a combination that turns heads for exactly the right reasons. Red Mist is one of the most visually complex colors in the C8 lineup, a deep crimson metallic that appears to shift and glow depending on the light — almost liquid at times in direct sun. The warm Natural interior against that exterior is a pairing most owners don't choose, but one that photographs beautifully, as the shots through the windshield make clear. The carbon fiber racing stripe running the full length of the car from nose to tail, with a fine red pinstripe accent, pulls the whole package together into something that looks purposeful from every angle. Pennsylvania hasn't seen many like it.
Red Mist has been one of the most enduring colors in C8 history — debuting in 2021 and consistently ranking among the top five most popular colors through 2025, accounting for just over 10% of 2025 Stingray production. Frank's Natural interior puts him in far rarer company: most Red Mist owners opt for black. The warm cognac leather against that deep metallic red is a combination worth appreciating. After 14 Corvettes and 66 years, Frank still knows exactly how to spec a car. A Corvette lover forever, he says — and always will be. 🏎️
