The 2027 Corvette Grand Sport X Configurator Is Live
Chevrolet switched on the Build & Price configurator for the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport X on August 25, which closes out the 2027 lineup — every model, from Stingray to ZR1X, can now be specced on Chevrolet.com. The GSX was the last one waiting, and it arrived about ten weeks after the first Grand Sport X allocations went out to dealers in mid-June, so there were plenty of people sitting on an allocation with no way to build the car against it.
Here's what's in the tool, and everything Chevrolet has confirmed about the car itself.
What you can build
Coupe or convertible, in 1LT, 2LT or 3LT.
The 1LT coupe starts at $112,195 and the 1LT convertible at $119,195, both including the $2,495 destination freight charge. Chevrolet's own model page lists the car at $109,700 before destination. For reference, the 2026 E-Ray it replaces started at $111,095, so the GSX asks about $1,100 more and brings 66 more horsepower and a new engine along with it.
Standard equipment is a strong starting point:
- 6.7L LS6 V8 with front electric drive unit, 721 combined horsepower
- 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, electrified all-wheel drive
- Carbon-ceramic brakes
- Magnetic Ride Control
- Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 4 tires
- 20-inch front / 21-inch rear 10-spoke Pearl Nickel forged-aluminum wheels
- GT1 seats in Mulan leather, 10-speaker Bose, head-up display, wireless charging
Trim walk is the familiar Corvette pattern. 2LT adds the 14-speaker Bose Performance Series system, heated and ventilated seats with power lumbar and wing adjustment, the Performance Data Recorder, and the blind-zone and cross-traffic alerts. 3LT opens up 14 interior color options, the leather-wrapped instrument panel and doors, sueded microfiber upper trim, and standard GT2 seats in Napa leather.
Notable finds in the option list
One performance package, and it's cheap. The Grand Sport X Performance Package swaps the all-season Michelins for Pilot Sport 4S summer tires, and that's $500. Carbon-ceramic brakes are already standard here, which is why there's no equivalent to the rear-drive Grand Sport's $3,500 Performance Package (Pilot Sport 4S plus the Z06's high-performance iron brakes) or its Track Performance Package, which starts the car at $109,190.
No Z06 carbon aero. The GSX can't be ordered with the Z06's Carbon Aero package. The only wing on the sheet is the three-stanchion high wing in Carbon Flash Metallic at $2,075. Ground effects come in Visible Carbon Fiber or Carbon Flash Metallic, and the carbon-fiber pieces depend on your dealer drawing a favorable constraint report — the Carbon Flash versions are the ones you can count on getting. There's also a new extended front splitter in Carbon Flash Metallic for $995.
The Launch Edition interior hides in plain sight. The configurator doesn't label it as such until after you add it. Look for "Santorini Blue Dipped with Torch Red accents" under interiors, or find it on the Options tab. It brings custom stitching, embossed headrest logos and the waterfall badge plaque, and Chevrolet has it as a one-year-only piece tied to the inaugural 2027 cars. The Stealth interior and Level 1 carbon-fiber interior can be stacked on top of it.
A few option prices worth knowing: center quad exhaust $1,995, bright polished exhaust tips $395, front lift $2,995, convertible engine appearance package $1,195, red LS6 engine cover $595, battery protection package $100.
Two things are showing that shouldn't be. The illuminated crossed flags emblem and the Jake carbon-fiber engine brace both appear as available, and both are listed as unavailable to order in the current 2027 order guide. Worth confirming with your dealer before you build around either one.
There were some first-day image-loading hiccups too — options that changed the car without changing the render. Hitting Summary confirms what's on the build.

Everything known about the Grand Sport X
The engine. The naturally aspirated 6.7L LS6 V8, the first of GM's sixth-generation Small Blocks, making 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet calls that more torque than any naturally aspirated V8 it has put in a Corvette. Displacement works out to 409 cubic inches — the muscle-car number the Beach Boys sang about, and Chevrolet leaned into it in the reveal. A 100 mm stroke gets it there, and the 13.0:1 compression ratio is the highest of any Corvette V8. Also new: a 95 mm throttle body, a tunnel-ram intake with high-velocity ports, forged pistons and rods, revised exhaust manifolds, and a continuously variable oil pump. GM's Flint Engine Operations assembles the LS6, returning V8 production to the city where the first Corvette V8s were built in 1955.
The hybrid system. A front-axle electric drive unit adds 186 horsepower and 145 lb-ft, for 721 combined horsepower and 665 lb-ft. The motor and the compact 1.9 kWh battery pack come from the ZR1X, and Chevrolet mounts the pack low and centered to preserve the mid-engine balance. Power runs through the same 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Performance. Chevrolet quotes 0-60 in 2.4 seconds, the quarter mile in 10.4 seconds at 131 mph, and a top speed of 186 mph. That 0-60 figure puts it ahead of the 670-horsepower Z06, which is what a driven front axle does off the line. Chevrolet hasn't published a curb or dry weight for the GSX; figures circulating online aren't in its own specs, so treat them as unofficial.
Drive modes. Three power strategies for track use: Endurance, engaged with the Charge+ button, adjusts the battery's energy strategy for extended lapping and consistent eAWD output across a full tank; Qualifying optimizes for the single best lap; Push-to-Pass puts maximum power on demand. Off track there's Stealth mode, which runs on electric power alone for 4-5 miles at up to 50 mph, and Shuttle mode, which moves the car on the motor alone under 22 mph for driveway and garage duty. Shuttle isn't for public roads, and the engine won't engage again until you restart the car.
Body and looks. The GSX wears the wide Z06 body with an integrated rear spoiler and wide side air inlets. Grand Sport X badging, a center stripe, and hash marks — which Chevrolet relocated to the rear of the car for the first time in the model's history, following the mid-engine layout. Four wheel finishes are exclusive to the Grand Sport and GSX: Pearl Nickel, Gloss Black, High Polished, and Carbon Flash with bright polished surfaces. On the paint chart, Admiral Blue Metallic returns as a heritage nod and Pitch Gray Metallic is new. The available quad center exhaust is the first center exhaust Chevrolet has offered on a pushrod V8 in the C8 generation.
Seats. GT1 standard on 1LT and 2LT in Mulan leather. GT2 available on 2LT and standard on 3LT, with carbon-fiber trim and a seatback halo, in Napa leather. Competition Sport seats in Napa with performance textile in the high-wear areas — on 1LT, the textile covers the whole seat. And a split configuration pairing a Competition Sport driver's seat with a GT2 passenger seat, available only with the asymmetrical Adrenaline Red or asymmetrical Santorini Blue interiors.
All 2027 Corvettes are built at Bowling Green, and the first Grand Sport Xs came off the line there in August.

On the figures. Every acceleration and top-speed number above is Chevrolet's published figure, quoted with the package Chevrolet quotes it with — Z51 on the Stingray, Z07 on the Z06, ZTK on the ZR1 and ZR1X. Chevrolet doesn't publish a quarter-mile time for the Z06, so that cell is left blank rather than filled with an estimate. The ZR1X's 1.89 and 8.99 are its unprepped-surface figures; on a prepped strip Chevrolet recorded 1.68 seconds and 8.675 at 159 mph.
On the prices. All are base coupe, including the $2,495 destination charge. Convertibles run about $7,000 more. The Z06, ZR1 and ZR1X figures exclude the gas guzzler tax, which adds $2,600 to $3,000 depending on configuration. These are the prices GM announced in April; Chevrolet's current model pages show slightly different starting figures for the Z06 and ZR1, so confirm on the configurator or with your dealer before you plan around a number.
Where it lands
Read down that table and the GSX occupies an interesting spot. It costs $23,700 more than a rear-drive Grand Sport and shares its engine, its body and its interior — the money buys a front axle, a battery, and about a third of a second to 60 mph. It starts below the Z06 while beating it to 60, and gives up 9 mph of top speed and the LT6's flat-plane howl in exchange.
The all-season tires and the driven front wheels also make this the Corvette in the range with the widest usable weather window, which is a real consideration if the car isn't strictly a fair-weather machine.
Order books are open and the builder is up. If you're building one, the two options flagged above are the ones to check with your dealer first.
