Most people meet Hero Covers through the silhouette cover — the one printed with the outline of your generation, so the covered car still reads as a Corvette from across the garage. That is one line out of seven. The full range runs from a plain solid color to a two-tone, a center stripe, the Stars and Stripes, sixteen national flags, and a fully custom cover printed from a photograph of your own car. Underneath all of it sits the decision that actually matters and that nobody talks about: which of three materials you choose. Two of the three are built for indoor use. Pick the wrong one and you have a garage cover sitting in the rain. This guide starts with the material, then walks the designs.

Start Here: The Material Decides Everything

The design is what you see. The material is what protects the car — and two of the three are indoor-only.

On most Hero Covers listings, material is a dropdown sitting right next to color, which makes it easy to treat as an afterthought. It isn't. The three materials are genuinely different products that happen to share a pattern and a print, and only one of them is built to sit outside. Read this section before you pick a design, because the design you want may not be offered in the material you need.

Standard is a scuba spandex cotton blend — a stretch fabric that pulls tight to the body, breathes, and stays light and soft against paint. Hero Covers describes it as everyday indoor defense and points it squarely at garage storage: dust, dirt, scratches, and the bicycle handlebar that swings into a rear quarter. It is the base material and the one most colors are shown in.

Diamond Quilt is the top of the range and also indoor. Quilted cotton, hand-stitched in a diamond pattern, water-repellant and soft enough that Hero Covers calls it a tailored jacket for the car. Note the wording carefully: water-repellant and marked for indoor protection. This is a show-car and collector material, bought for how gently it treats a finish and how it looks in a garage — not for weather.

Outdoor Hero is the only outdoor material, and it is the one thing on this page you should not compromise on if the car parks outside. Aluminum polyester with what Hero Covers describes as breathable waterproof technology, built for rain, sun, wind, and UV. One thing that will trip you up on the product page: in the dropdown this material is listed as Waterproof, not Outdoor Hero. Same material, two names. If you need the outdoor cover, select Waterproof.

Not every design offers all three. The Two-Tone is Standard or Waterproof only — there is no Diamond Quilt in that line. The silhouette covers are a single fabric with no material choice at all. Each section below names what it actually offers.

Two things to know before you order. First, the material is a dropdown here as well, so the same indoor-versus-outdoor decision from the section above applies. Second, expect to hear from us: Hero Covers may come back asking for additional photos of the car from other angles to get the print right. That is a good sign rather than a problem, but it does mean this is not a place-the-order-and-forget-it purchase. Build in a little time for the back-and-forth.

The Silhouette Cover

The line most people know, and the only one with no material choice to make.

Indoor & Outdoor · Single Fabric Indoor & Outdoor Silhouette Each generation gets its own outline printed on the cover, which is the whole point: a covered car in a garage stops being an anonymous shape and stays recognisably a Corvette. The C3 outline is not the C8 outline, and the difference reads instantly to anyone who knows the cars. This line is the odd one out in a useful way. There is no material dropdown — it is one fabric, rated by Hero Covers for both indoor and outdoor use, guarding against UV, dust, moisture, and light debris. Note that last phrase honestly: light debris. This is not an impact cover, and if falling acorns or a shared garage are your real problem you want a padded cover instead. What you choose here is color, and on seven of the eight generations that means twelve of them. The exception is the C1, which is currently listed in Arctic Blue only. If you have a C1 and want a different color, ask us before you order rather than after — that may be a listing that needs updating rather than a real limit. Best for A garage where the car gets looked at. Owners who want one cover rated for either environment without studying a materials chart. Twelve colors on C2 through C8; Arctic Blue on C1.

Solid On an Earlier Car

All Three Materials · Eleven Colors Plain Car Cover The undecorated version, and a better starting point than it sounds. If you want the Hero Covers fit and material without a graphic on the car, this is the line — and it carries the widest color range of anything here at eleven, including a Light Blue that doesn't appear in the striped or two-tone options. It also offers all three materials, which the Two-Tone does not. That makes Plain the most flexible line in the range: it is the only one where you can have the Diamond Quilt and pick from eleven colors. If you are buying a show-garage cover and the print matters less than the finish, start here rather than with the silhouette. Best for Matching the car underneath, or deliberately not matching it. Owners who want the Diamond Quilt material with a real color choice. Available in Standard, Waterproof, and Diamond Quilt.

Standard or Waterproof · Eight Colors Two-Tone Car Cover Your color across the body with a contrasting panel, which reads as deliberate in a way a single flat color doesn't. Eight colors, and the palette here is the interesting one — it includes a Brown and a Purple that don't appear anywhere else in the range, so if you have a car in an unusual factory color this is the line most likely to have something that works. The limit is the material list. Two-Tone is offered in Standard and Waterproof only; there is no Diamond Quilt. If you want the quilted material, the Plain and Striped lines both have it and this one doesn't. Worth knowing before you fall for a color. Best for Echoing a stripe package or a two-tone interior. Owners after Brown or Purple, which only exist here. Not for anyone set on the Diamond Quilt material.

Center Stripe Another Angle

All Three Materials · Six Colors Striped Car Cover A stripe running nose to tail, which is the most Corvette thing you can do to a cover without printing a car on it. Six colors, and the useful one to know about is Camo — the only pattern option anywhere in this lineup, and a genuinely different look from the five solids beside it. All three materials are available, so the stripe works as an indoor show cover in Diamond Quilt or an outdoor cover in Waterproof. The tradeoff against Plain is simply choice: six colors instead of eleven. If your color isn't in the six, the stripe isn't going to happen and Plain is the fallback. American Flag

All Three Materials · One Design American Flag Car Cover A full-cover flag print rather than a small emblem on the nose, and it lands the way you'd expect on a car that has been the American sports car for seventy years. This is a car-show cover first — it is what goes on the car during judging, at a club meet, or at a Fourth of July display where the cover is part of the presentation. There is no color axis on this line, for the obvious reason. The only choice is material, and all three are offered. Worth noting: because the print covers the whole cover rather than sitting on a colored base, it is available on every generation from the C1 through the C8 — the same flag, eight different patterns. Best for Shows, club events, and parade season. Owners who want the cover to say something. Standard, Waterproof, or Diamond Quilt — pick by where the car parks, not by look.

Sixteen More Flags

The largest part of the range by a wide margin, and the part almost nobody knows exists.

Beyond the American flag there are sixteen more national flags, each one listed separately for all eight generations. That is the bulk of the Hero Covers catalog and it is the reason this range is so much bigger than it looks — the silhouette covers everyone knows about are eight listings out of roughly a hundred and seventy.

Two audiences use these. The first is owners abroad, or importers, where a Corvette under a home flag is a specific and pointed statement. The second, and probably larger here, is heritage: a Corvette owner in the States who wants the flag of where the family came from. Either way the material choice works the same as the American flag — all three, no color axis, chosen by where the car parks.
