Fan Friday: Morgan Hanson’s 2004 Machine Silver Corvette Z06
This week’s CorvetteStoreOnline.com Fan Friday highlights a Corvette that blends precision engineering, thoughtful customization, and pure dedication—courtesy of Morgan Hanson from Dallas, Texas. Morgan’s 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 in Machine Silver Metallic is the result of four years of carefully planned modifications, turning an already legendary C5 Z06 into a truly personalized performance machine.
From the factory, the 2004 Z06 was already a standout, powered by the 5.7L LS6 V8 and paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Known for its lightweight chassis, fixed-roof design, and track-focused handling, the C5 Z06 quickly earned its place as one of the most driver-engaged Corvettes ever built. Morgan took that solid foundation and elevated it with extensive upgrades across the interior, exterior, drivetrain, suspension, and engine—while maintaining a cohesive, purpose-built feel.
Inside, the cockpit reflects a balance of safety, comfort, and performance. Corbeau black leather A4 sport seats, shaved mounts, and a chrome moly roll bar anchor the cabin, while upgraded seat belts, billet accessories, and a Tick Performance short-throw shifter keep the driving experience sharp and engaging. The addition of modern audio components, cameras, and AutoMeter instrumentation brings updated functionality without sacrificing the Corvette’s driver-focused layout.
Under the hood, Morgan’s Z06 showcases serious performance intent. The LS platform has been extensively enhanced with a K&N cold air intake, MSD Atomic AirForce intake, Katech 103mm throttle body, ported heads, custom camshaft, upgraded valvetrain components, and long-tube headers with a race X-pipe. Cooling and reliability were clearly priorities as well, with DeWitts radiator components, reinforced hoses, and upgraded electrical and belt systems ensuring everything works together as intended.
The exterior ties it all together with functional and visual upgrades that complement the Z06’s aggressive styling. Track-spec hood louvers, functional fender vents, carbon-style side skirts, and a race-inspired rear spoiler reinforce the car’s performance roots, while LED lighting upgrades and modern badging give it a sharp, updated presence. Sitting on Forgestar F14 wheels wrapped in Toyo R888R tires, this Z06 looks every bit as capable as it performs.
Morgan’s Corvette is a great example of what happens when passion meets patience—every detail has a purpose, and every upgrade tells part of the story.
