Fan Friday: Bruce Hall's 2013 Triple Black Grand Sport Convertible

Bruce’s Corvette story didn’t begin with a purchase—it began with trust. In his early 20s, while stationed in the military, Bruce’s Marine landlord was preparing for a deployment to Europe and asked him to drive his prized 1971 blue Corvette to the base auto sale lot. With T-tops overhead and a 4-speed manual under his control, that C3 effectively became Bruce’s daily driver for the next five to six months. It was a formative experience—one filled with freedom, sound, and the unmistakable feel of a true driver’s car.

After retiring from the Air Force, Bruce knew it was time to make Corvette ownership official. His second chapter came in the form of a 2004 red Corvette convertible equipped with a 6-speed manual, bringing him back to open-air driving and hands-on performance. After a couple of years, the pull to step up was too strong—and that journey led him to the Corvette he proudly owns today.

Bruce’s current ride is a 2013 Corvette Grand Sport Convertible finished in Triple Black, a configuration that perfectly complements the Grand Sport’s aggressive wide-body stance. The C6 Grand Sport is widely celebrated for combining Z06-inspired styling with everyday drivability, offering broader fenders, a planted presence, and performance-focused design without sacrificing comfort. In convertible form, it delivers the best of both worlds—track-bred attitude with top-down cruising enjoyment. The all-black finish adds a timeless, stealthy look that underscores the car’s serious performance roots.

While Bruce plans to hold onto this Grand Sport for a while, his Corvette journey is far from over. Like many enthusiasts, he’s already looking ahead—this time with an eye on a Black Rose 2017 Grand Sport. Whether or not that next chapter comes soon, one thing is certain: Bruce’s connection to Corvette spans generations, service, and decades of passion.
